While we were on the break…冬休みの間に…

It’s Jan-19-Tue. Today and tomorrow, Ly-san and Linh-san are writing “Interview article”. So, I decided not to ask for the daily blog, today. Instead, I will write a blog! Hi, I’m Satoko the internship instructor. I know, you were expecting their daily blog. But let me take this opportunity to show you the fun we had during our winter break!
1月19日（火）。今日と明日は、リーさんとリンさんは「インタビュー記事」執筆中なので、日記ブログはお休みしてもらうことにしました。彼女たちの代わりに私が書こうと思います。インターン指導員のSATOKOです。わかっています。彼女たちのブログを楽しみにされてたのですよね？でも、この機会に、冬休み中に私たちが楽しんだことをご紹介しようと思います。

Online Tour of Kagawa
香川県をオンラインで案内

If the JIP’s internship have taken place as usual, they were supposed to be here in Kagawa physically with us. However due to the pandemic of COVID-19, it became online internship, although it did a favor for our business plan… But if they were here, they would have been taken to so many places by us, either they like it or not 🙂 !
もし、JIPのインターンシップが通常通り行われていたら、今ごろ、彼女たちは実際に物理的に香川県に居たはずです。ところが新型コロナで、今年はオンラインに…オンラインになってくれたことが、うちとしては申し込みのきっかけになったのですが…。もし、彼女たちがここに居たら、彼女たちが望もうが望むまいが、色んな所へ連れまわしていたはずなのです！（笑）。

Hence, we use Microsoft Teams for our usual meeting, I thought we should try online live tour of Kagawa!
普段の打ち合わせにはマイクロソフトのTeamsを使っているので、オンラインで香川の見どころを生中継したらいいじゃない！と思ったのです。

785 stone steps to visit a shrine…
お参りするのに785段の石段…

I will pass the official websites and guide books and blogs to explain about this place. The name is “Kotohira Konpira Gu / Kotoshira Konpira shrine”. Please kindly google it, if you are curious, for you to read about it in your language. It has 785 stone steps to get here.
この場所の説明は、公式サイトや観光サイトにお任せします。「琴平金毘羅宮」で調べてみてください。とにかく、本殿へいくには、785段の石段を登らなくてはなりません。

Climbing the stone steps, explaining about it with a face mask on was not so good or pretty idea… In my mind, it was a little bit easier but actually doing it was totally different. Linh-san and Ly-san told me to take a break so many times, how sweet they are!
マスクをつけて説明をしながら石段を登るのは…あまり利口なやり方ではありませんでした。実際にやる前は、もうちょっと楽だと思っていたのですが…考えるのとやるのとでは大違い。途中、なんども、リンさんとリーさんが「休憩してください」って言ってくれるんです。なんて、優しいのかしら。

We also ambitiously tried to take group photo!
そして、無謀にも、グループ写真を撮ることにもチャレンジしてみました！

ummmm…. What do you think? Did we succeed? The person who is in the window of right bottom corner on the phone is our CEO! So technically, 4 of us are in one photo!
ん～…。どうですか？成功しましたかね？スマートフォンの画面右下の小さな枠に写っているのは、弊社の社長。なので、厳密には4人の集合写真！

The castle became the inspiration of our Logo mark.
ロゴのモデルになったお城

Next spot is Marugame castle in Marugame city. KoLe’s Logo mark is Japanese castle. And this castle was the model of it. The reason is I am from Marugame and grew up looking at this beautiful castle and stone wall. If I explain it properly, I will have to explain what KoLe service is to me as well, so, I will skip that.
次の場所は丸亀市にある丸亀城。KoLeのロゴマークは日本のお城です。そのモデルになったのが、ここ丸亀城。理由は、私が丸亀で生まれ育ち、この美しいお城とその石垣を見て育ったからです。ちゃんとした理由を説明するには、KoLeが私にとってどんな存在かを説明しないといけないので、割愛します。

There are only 12 castle remain which were not burnt down during the war and have original wooden castle top in Japan. And one of them is the Marugame castle.
戦争で焼けず、オリジナルの天守閣が残る城は日本に12城しか残っていません。そのうちの１城が丸亀城なんです。

Unexpected surprise / サプライズ

The online tour was not mandatory activity and it is not internship, so I told both of them that their friends and family are welcome to join.
オンラインツアーはインターンシップの一環でもないし、自由参加なので、友達やご家族にも参加していただいていいよと伝えてありました。

Then friend of Ly-san, joined us! She also studies Japanese at the same university as Ly-san. At the end of our online tour, Ly-san’s friend took me to online tour of her accommodation to their university! I was not sure, how this online tour can be fun or interesting. But looking at the streets of Hanoi and the beautiful building of their university with the explanation from Ly-san’s friend, I noticed, online tour can be great fun.
そして、リーさんの大学のお友達（同じ学部で日本語を学んでいます）が参加してくれました。オンライン・ツアーの終わりに、なんと、リーさんのお友達が下宿先から大学までの道のりを案内してくれました！オンライン・ツアーがどのくらい面白いか不安だったのですが、こうして見る側になって、お友達の説明を聞きながら、街並みや大学の建物を眺めてみると、とても面白いと感じました。

We are finding the new way to have fun even under the circumstances.
こんな状況下でも私たちは新しい楽しみを見つける。

It was an activity which suddenly flashed into my mind. But after doing it made me think so much things. Under the pandemic of COVID-19, our life is restricted in many ways. There are so many things that we better not to do, should not do. Crossing the border is one of them. Physically gathering with a lot of people is one of them. But at the same time, there are things became possible as well. Online Internship is one of them. Web meeting became normal tool for the business is one of them.
突然思いついたアクティビティでしたが、実際にやってみて多くの事を考えさせられました。新型コロナ禍、私たちの生活には何かしらの制限がかかっています。やらない方がよいこと、やってはいけないことがたくさんあります。国境を越えることもそうですし、実際に大人数で集まることもそう。それと同時に、こんな状況だから出来るようになったこともあります。オンライン・インターンシップもその１つですし、仕事のツールとして、オンライン会議が日常化したことも１つ。

In March 2020, I could have never dreamed of meeting wonderful bright young ladies from Vietnam. In the end of November 2020, I would have not even imagine that I will be climbing up 785 stone steps, explaining about the famous shrine of Kagawa in English and actually to have fun. Or even get to see the view of the streets of Hanoi as if I was walking along with Ly-san’s friend.
2020年3月に、聡明でステキなベトナム人の女性2人と出会えるなんて夢にも思いませんでしたし、その11月の終わりの時点で、英語で金毘羅宮の説明をしながらあの石段を登ることなんて想像もできませんでした。さらに、ハノイの街をまるでリーさんのお友達と一緒に歩いているような感覚で観られるなんて。

Now very smart reeds and skilled reeds are fighting with COVID-19 at Laboratories and Hospitals, all over the world. For other reeds like me, it is our part not to get infected but keep trying to have fun or try to maintain our quality of lives within the restrictions. And we are capable of it. Because we are thinking reeds.
今、とても賢く技術を持った葦たちが、世界中の研究所や病院で新型コロナと闘っています。私のような普通の葦に出来ることは、感染しないようにすること、規制の中で人生を楽しむ方法を見つけることや生活の質を保つ方法を見つけること。そして、私たちにはそれをやってのける力がある。なぜなら、私たちは考える葦だから。

As I mentioned at the beginning. They are now writing an interview article. As far as I know, they both are writing it in 2 different approach. What I found today is, their steps to write article is also different. Don’t worry, they are doing fine. Tomorrow is the deadline of the article. So, tomorrow I will be writing the blog again. Their blog will be back on Jan-21st.
最初に書いたとおり、彼女たちは今、インタビュー記事の執筆中です。私の知る限りでは、2人ともそれぞれのアプローチをとって書いている様子。今日気が付いたのは、同じ記事を書くと言うタスクでもその過程も2人とも違った過程を通っているという事。明日がインタビュー記事の締め切りです。なので、明日も私がブログを書きます。彼女たちがブログに戻るのは1月21日！
